Case IH has plowed into the precision seeding game with its new Precision Hoe 800 air hoe drill. Unveiled here at the 32nd Western Canada Farm Progress Show, the drill is designed specifically for farmers of small-seeded, high value crops such as canola.

The drill features a parallel linkage opener for better trash clearance and superior depth control, especially with small-seeded crops. The pack and depth wheel follow directly behind the opener, closely following ground contours.

Case IH says that several of the features of the new drill are directly in response to farmer concerns. One such concern is mobility – the Precision Hoe 800 is designed to fold up into a transport size that directly falls within the path of the tractor. Farmers are traveling more miles between fields on increasingly busy highways. The sleek transport package of the new drill ensures safety for the driver and those on the roadway. Fold-up is easy – once the locking pins are removed, all controls are located in the cab.

The Precision Hoe 800 is available in 50, 60 and 70 feet widths at either 10- or 12-inch row spacing, and can be used with a tow-behind or tow-between grain cart.

For those who prefer blue, New Holland sells the same drill as its P2070 model.
