As auger sizes have grown significantly in the past few years, making them easier to manoeuvre saves effort and strained muscles. The new Wheatheart SA Flex is designed to do just that.

And the biggest difference with this auger’s design is it has an extra pivot point that also significantly increases the intake hopper’s working arc, making it easier to accurately position under truck trailers.
The Flex operates with a combination of a hydraulic pivot cylinder and dual-drive hydraulic power swing.
According to the company, the SA Flex’s design increases the hopper swing-arc area by 287 per cent. The increased range area means the intake can be quickly placed under both hoppers of a truck trailer without repositioning anything, that helps keep the auger working at full capacity.
The SA Flex is available in 71-, 81- and 91-foot lengths. For stability, this auger includes hydraulic outriggers and convenient hydraulic controls for positioning the intake hopper.
Fully raised, this auger series has a maximum clearance height of 49 feet to 61 feet three inches, depending on the model. But they can be lowered to about 12 feet for transport.
The SA Flex, made by Saskatoon’s Wheatheart Manufacturing, is distributed by Viterra. More information on the SA Flex is available
